Alberto Burri

One of the biggest exponents of 20th-century Italian art, Alberto Burri (1915-1995) is on show at La Triennale of Milan. The retrospective ranges from 1950s masterpieces to more recent work, characterised by the use of the technique known as "cellotex".

The Alberto Burri exhibition offers a selection of works that are less known in Italy, such as Cactus architecture, which was only ever displayed in Athens. There are also drafts of set designs, pictures and billboards, bearing witness to the artist's ability to reinvent himself for over half a century.
